Sticky Chicken Wings

I have no idea where I got this recipe, but I found it in one of my old recipe note books. The first time I made this was probably 5 years ago. My husband and I LOVED it and it is perfect for BBQ season! I used chicken wings but I’ve made this before with chicken breast.

It is so simple and quick, all you have to go is mix it all together and DONE! If 1.5 kg is too much then just halve the recipe :)


1.5 kgs chicken wings
2 tsp ground Chinese five spice
2-3 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tsp sesame oil
1/2 cup runny honey
1/2 soy sauce (dark soy sauce)
2 spring onions, finely sliced, plus extra for garnish
1 large or 2 small red chillies (optional), finely sliced, plus extra for garnish


1. Mix all ingredients into a bowl and allow to marinade for up to 1 hours in the fridge or ideally overnight.

2. Preheat oven to 200°. Spread the wings evenly in an lightly oiled baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, turning once, until golden and cooked through.

3. Serve with the extra spring onion and chilli along side a crisp salad or an finger food. Enjoy!
